The past 2 weeks have been pretty dull tbh. I did have a deadline last week for that project Andrew threw me into. I believe I talked about it in my second or third post. Long story short, I wrapped up a couple sheets up for his review and bugged him about it for like a month and a half, and when he finally got to it (last Monday) he set issuance dates for EOD and then the coming Wednesday 🫠. It was a pretty quick turnaround, and everything got out in time, but I definitely woulda appreciated a heads up lol. Other than that I've been doing various studies for UH in Rhino and Lumion, nothing too exciting. I have been introduced to some pro-bono residential projects the firm does for friends. Those are pretty fun and it's cool to see really nicely done residential designs that aren't on a massive mansion scale. I'm manifesting that one day I'll get to live in a house like one of those 🛐. The most exciting thing that happened last week was definitely the fight that ...

Now that a few weeks have passed since the start of my internship, I've started to get settled into a routine at work. They've started to give me a more interesting range of assignments, including some sketches, some graphics for community meetings, and some data analysis. I've been taking a lot of time to practice drawing, which has been much easier since it's so quiet here. We had a snowstorm a couple of weeks ago, and I made a little snowman cult based on a Calvin and Hobbes panel I saw. One of my neighbors walked by while I was making this in the dark and I think she was concerned. I had fun with it, though. It was one of my first big snows. I've also been getting to play around more with layering clothes and making cold-weather outfits.     I've also been spending a lot of time making dumb things just because. Pictured below are Gengar (left, work in progress) and Crab (right). And below I have a silly little image that I photoshopped when I got bored. I...

hey, hope everyone's been doing well. the last 2 weeks have been pretty good. i am going to walk you through what ive been doing at the internship.  when we are making schematic designs, brian the head guy, will give me a sketch like this then i will give him a schematic. i will show it to him a few times and he will give me things to change each time. ex. the pool needs to be 4 feet from the property line instead of 3 in this case because its adjacent to audobon park. or that he thinks a central water feature will look nice in the pool.  some days i will do surverys and make base plans like what you see below. i like doing this alot, and ive been doing pretty much all of them. im not sure why brian has me do all of them.  below are some construction details i made. alot of yall are saying that theyve only touched like 2 or 3 projects so far which is pretty crazy because ive worked on more that 20 projects already. ive been getting pretty good at autocad, so ive started t...

Hello again! The majority of my work is still various Photoshop renders. I got some artistic freedom with rendering these concept alternative sketches for a community meeting presentation. The photoshop watercolor brush pack and I are like this now 🤞 playground options amenity space options I also had some visitors for St. Paddys Day! We got to explore some corners of Boston, including the famed Cop Slide in City Hall Plaza (only like 10 min walk from my office wow) which was actually a really cool play area, with big concrete cube elements embedded in the hill.  marina daniels & isa vidal enjoying the water feature  playground at city hall plaza Also, Marina got to stop by my office for our Margarita Madness party which involved trivia, a chip/dip making competition, and a Margaritaville™ blended marg machine, in honor of one of the firm’s founders, Lynn Wolff, who apparently loved a good marg!

Philip Moser - Mason Phillips - Blog 4    🔼🔼Unnamed cute dog🔼🔼 These two weeks have been a continuation of our job from last week as well as a drainage project.  I had the pleasure of working with two past interns whilst we finishd up the first pour of concrete and started our second project. It was ovely working with two extra sets of hands and they provided great company. To begin our second project, we first needed to knock out some sidewalk to make way for our pipes. We then continued up past the right side of the house, following a low spot up into higher elevation. Once we finished with that, we started on the next problem area. This area was overflowing onto the carport; We put a series of catch basins, perforated PVC wrapped in filter fabric, and stone. This depression causes surrounding groundwater from the saturated soil to flow to the new low point and dry out the yard.  Issues on site considered to be solved. Next, we popped back over to our dri...

Hi everyone, it’s been a minute! I’ve been soaking up every bit of Southern California over the last month. Between the internship and the weather, I’ve been staying busy exploring everything from going on hikes to local beaches. It’s been the perfect backdrop for a pretty busy month of work. Lately, my workflow has been centered around heavy modeling, mostly transitioning from Rhino into either Lumion or D5 Render. It’s been a great learning experience and after using both programs I think I’m officially Team D5. In my experience, the capabilities, especially the planting tools, feel a bit more robust and efficient for the long run. I’ve also been diving deep into InDesign, sharpening my layout skills while prepping diagrams for several upcoming client presentations. The highlight of the month, though, was getting to experiment with some new AI tools. I was tasked with designing a pavilion structure, and instead of the traditional route, I used a mix of AI generators and web...

Happy Friday! These posts have become somewhat of a ritual for me every other Friday. I honestly look forward to updating it with the most recent work I've been doing. I feel like I treat these as a progress report for myself; it's nice to wrap the past 2 weeks of work into a short summary and see how it's different from earlier posts. 😁 I've gotten into some really cool stuff lately! The first month and a half of my time here has been spent mostly on Rhino, Lumion, and a little bit of CAD. Nothing crazy, just drawing out/modeling design schemes for my supervisors to take a few seconds to look at lol. The past few weeks though I've been involved in more documentation and deliverable work! I'm happy that I'm being trusted with a bit more responsibility and I'm looking forward to learning more! These are a few shade structure options Chandler had me model out for a site at UH. I've gotten to complete pretty large planting base plans through Land F/X o...

Hey y'all, these past couple weeks have probably been the most stressful so far since I've been there. In the span of a week, I had to switch from 3 different computers because my original one decided it wanted to stop working and the other one after that decided to the same (love that). But now I finally have a computer that works so I can lock in for real. Another fun little issue we ran into was in a project we are working on for a flex space; the proposed site plan did not reach the requirements for the municode for the Town of Jupiter. Now it's a bunch of back and forth between going on site and coordinating with the team who did the original plan. It's been stressful but I got to learn more about tree mitigation and creating the documents for that. Been working a lot recently on graphics and helping out wherever I can. Currently, I'm helping out with some graphics and perspectives for a residential project that has been tricky because the client is super pick...
