DDG Week 13-17 (Eileen)

The semester is coming to end!! 4th year completed!! So for April it’s been pretty much the same work but I did have a few first times of different assignments within this month.

I went into my first meeting at a city office with city officials and a landscaping group recently and I found that process interesting and seeing how so many people are hands on. In school they don’t usually show the business side of how projects go up to bid and the arrangements made after but thankfully Chad makes sure to include us in a lot of the process and gives us an insight on how the business part works.

Recently I’ve been working on a lot of Details for a Sportsplex. It’s been a lot of hands on deck to finish these constructions documents and have it be 100%. The documents included over 200 pages of architecture, electrical, civil, and structural engineering. I’ve been meeting with the mobile, Alabama DDG office and contractors over teams meeting to see what we have left or what we’re missing.

Finally, I was able to go to the basics and learn about code plans and having to understand the code requirements for different cities. I’ve only recently worked on Hammond but hopefully throughout the summer I continue to work on more code plans to be able to work on them faster and understand code language lol.
