Joseph Cochran - HOCKER Design Group - #2
Sup guys, sorry for the little delay since my last post but I’ve been super busy between working, going back to Baton Rouge, and also Easter weekend. Not much has really changed since the last post except I am getting even more work. They keep me busy here which is super nice.
Recently, I have been working on a lot of DD or CD sets in AutoCAD as a lot of our projects are in the later phases of design and we are trying to push those forward. This isn’t the most interesting thing at the moment but I still got to go to a couple site visits as well and some smaller projects that may be a little more entertaining.
Most of my time right now is going to a DD set of a super nice rooftop pool terrace. There is a pool as well as an outdoor cooking area, a huge stone fireplace, as well as lots of seating and planting. We have been pushing this set for about 2 weeks and I have been working a lot on the hard scale details. Details aren’t the most exciting but you do learn a whole lot about how things are constructed from them which is a plus.
Another project that I actually have been working on is a school renovation here in Dallas. They are still in the Schematic Design phase so I have been helping create tons of diagrams and editing the concept and design presentations for meetings.
And like I said I have also gotten tons of smaller task in between these two main projects like modeling something, creating sketchup views, or rendering views in Lumion. I am still enjoying it here as there is a fast pace of work flow and I have been able to work on so many different things.
Other than work, I haven’t really been doing much here in Dallas. I drove back to Baton Rouge 3 weeks ago for the weekend and this past weekend I was out of town again due to Easter so not much has been going on other than work.
Anyways hope yall are still enjoying your internships!
i am not enjoying my internship without my roommate
